Shiuli meaning
Shiuli (শিউলি) is a Hindu girl's name of Bengali origin.
The night-flowering jasmine (harsingar), a white autumn flower
Shiuli (শিউলি) is the Bengali name of the night-flowering jasmine, Nyctanthes arbor-tristis, called harsingar in Hindi. The Samsad dictionary treats শিউলি as the everyday form of শেফালি, the name Shefali, and describes the flower as white, fragrant and autumnal. In Bengal it blooms in the autumn weeks of Durga Puja: the flowers are offered to the goddess, and many Puja songs and poems mention them. It is also the official state flower of West Bengal. Because Shiuli is a plain Bengali word rather than a Sanskrit one, we show it in Bengali script; parents who prefer the classical form can choose Shefali, which names the same flower.
